Discovery NotesThe phage sample was collected from a tree by Lake Arthur on Gonzaga University's campus on 1/20/2022. It had just rained, so the soil by the lake was hard-packed but not muddy, just wet.
Naming NotesBlueWhale is one of the founders favorite marine creature, so we saw it fitting to name our phage after the animal.
