Discovery NotesThis sample was collected on the southern side of the chemistry building on UNT's campus (33.21386°N, 97.14999° W) in Denton, Texas. It was collected at 10:58am. The temperature was ~5°C (41°F) and sunny. The soil itself was not super moist, but was surrounded by lots of decomposing organic material. Approximately the top 1.5-2cm of soil was removed from the site and placed in a zip-lock bag with a clean plastic spoon.
Naming NotesI thought it was a cool name. It reminded me of something I read in a book a long time ago.
