Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered from a soil sample collected in Janesville Iowa. The soil was used for a different experiment in the lab and kept at minus 4 degree Celsius. I decided to test this soil sample to see if I could isolate an Arthrobacter globiformis phage. Fortunately, I was successful in Isolating an Arthrobacter globiformis phage in my enriched isolation.
Naming NotesThis is the third time I have renamed this phage. The first time, it was named Timmyy and rejected, and the second time, I renamed it Parvo. After talking to my instructor, I decided not to keep this name. I instead decided to rename the phage DirtusLongtail. I chose this name because the phage was isolated from dirt and has a long tail.
