Discovery NotesCollected soil from a pond by UNT Parking Lot 85, (33.20314° N, 97.15532° W), in Denton Texas. The soil was collected at 3:09 PM and the temperature was about 111°F. I came across the pond and thought that the soil there would be rich in nutrients because of the diverse plants and living organisms that inhabit that area. The bag that I filled ¼ of the way with small clumps of the soil, dug one inch deep from the surface, contained little pieces of grass, roots and sticks.
Naming NotesMy TA brings donuts to class once in a while and I eat most of the donuts. So I'm known as the "DonutMan".
