| Discovery Notes | Collected soil from a pond by UNT Parking Lot 85, (33.20314° N, 97.15532° W), in Denton Texas. The soil was collected at 3:09 PM and the temperature was about 111°F. I came across the pond and thought that the soil there would be rich in nutrients because of the diverse plants and living organisms that inhabit that area. The bag that I filled ¼ of the way with small clumps of the soil, dug one inch deep from the surface, contained little pieces of grass, roots and sticks. |
