Discovery Notes | The soil type the phage was found in was a moist sand clay dirt found in JMU arboretum near an empty riverbed. The sample was collected under cumulus clouds in fair hot and high humid weather. |
Naming Notes | Palindrome of Dracel, combination of prefix of dragon "Draco" and "el" spanish for "the". The last part "card" relates to the ending of some medieval name such as "Picard" or "Ducard". The dragon part was inspired by how virulent the phage was during plaque assays. |
