Sample description: Collected from a flat, plant-rich area that’s adjacent to Lake Balboa Recreation Center. The site was directly off a major road with heavy traffic and within 800 feet of apartment complexes and office buildings. A sludgy sewer outlet was nearby, and the surrounding environment included both urban infrastructure and green space, with the nearby lake housing aquatic animals such as fish and ducks. The area was not sloped and had visibly wet soil at the time of collection.
