Discovery Notes | To find the phage, I looked for dead grass surrounded by healthy grass. I then proceed to take a soil sample 1 meter in depth, soil that was moist. I considered this area as I know something was occurring in the soil. |
Naming Notes | Esperanza, meaning hope in Spanish, represents the hope that this phage will provide for the medical community. Throughout the process, we had many failed trials to find a phage therefore this phage also represents the hope our team held onto through our many attempts. Lastly, it is a tribute to our Mexican culture. |
