From enriched soil sample?Yes
Isolation TemperatureNot entered
GPS Coordinates39.98 N, 105.13 W Map
Discovery NotesSoil collected from potted tomato plant at 09:00. Temperature outside was approximately 23.8 degrees C.
Naming NotesOriginally, this phage was named TBolton, but upon seeing the electron microscopy image, the name was changed to CaptainHook because of the hooked curvature of the tail. However, the name CaptainHook was already used so the final name for this phage was changed to Gancho, as "gancho" is the Spanish word for hook.

Sequencing NotesThere was a contaminating phage in the sample from Cluster A1. It got about 7% of the reads compared to about 93% of the reads for the Cluster Q phage. Thus, Gancho was assigned to be the Cluster Q phage, but it is possible it is a mixed lysate.
