Discovery NotesI collected soil from (32.9233424°N, 97.1288006°W) in southern Southlake, Texas. The temperature was about 86 degrees Fahrenheit and it was extremely dry due to a lack of rain the previous night. Furthermore, the soil was somewhat sandy due to the presence of sun rays. The location of my soil sample is in my backyard near a collection of gardened basil and mint. I dug about the top 1.5 inches of soil from near the garden and placed it in a Ziploc sandwich plastic bag to about a quarter full.
Naming NotesI named the phage "Germinator" because I thought it was a good name to name it after my favorite movie Terminator. Then I just related it to germs since I was dealing with bacteria.
