Discovery NotesCollected Soil Sample from (32.6977690, -97.2381573), in the outskirts of Fort Worth. The weather was cloudy and cold since it had snowed the day before. The temperature ranged between 31°F and 48 °F. A sample of topsoil was collected outside of a residential area, near some trees and other vegetation. Because of this, the sample contained a large amount of organic material.
Naming NotesGluttony, derived from the Latin word gluttire meaning "to gulp down or swallow". In Christianity, it's one of the seven deadly sins meant to describe over-indulgence and overconsumption of food, drink, or wealth. Given the fact that at the end of its life cycle bacteriophages kill the host they were in, I found it to be a fitting name for it.
