Discovery NotesSoil was very dry, and crumbly. The roots of the grass and rocks made for a slightly more difficult removal, as collection would take grass and rocks with the dirt. No precipitation had occurred.
(580 ft Elevation) Soil sample was collected right outside of Florence Schneider Hall in Bowling Green, KY. Collection side was near a sidewalk and a pole.
Naming NotesWhen I was small, I told my mother that I would name my first child "Hamdunkin". So, in honor of my great taste in names, the phage will be named "Hamdunkin".
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesHamdunkin's lifecycle is lysogenic. No plaques presented in lysogen broth experiment, so there was no secondary infection. Bacteria's lysogen is stable, and shows immunity from further infection.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesThe plaques on the plates are normally turbid and round. They have a variation in size but are normally 4mm to 5mm wide. There appears to be very slight bullseyes on the plaques present. No halo present from 4mm to 5mm plaques.
