Discovery Notes | The phage isolated was found among soil rich in organic matter and fertilizer. The area was damp and the air was cool. |
Naming Notes | The phage name, HanSola, is in remembrance of the first phage sample I originally tried to isolate, found in the backyard of a house on campus called, The SOLA House. The name, “Sola” is derived from the name of that house, and the name “Han” in front of the “Sola” makes for a funny reference to the popular Star Wars character, Han Solo. |
