Discovery NotesThe soil that contained the phage was found between College Hall and St. Aloysius Catholic Church on the Gonzaga University campus. The soil was collected from the base of the "Gonzaga University Grotto" sign.
Naming NotesThe plaques the phage produced were small in comparison to phages isolated in the same lab environment. Due to this, the misnomer, "Hugh Mungus" (a play on the word, "humongous," meaning, "large") was chosen.
