Discovery NotesThe soil sample was dry, granular, and filled with organic matter. The sample was taken from a depth of 1 inch in a shaded area at the edge of a compost pile located at the WKU Office of Sustainability. There were an abundance of trees and other vegetation in the surrounding area. The air temperature was approximately 30°C.

All plates used in the discovery process were incubated at 30°C.
Naming NotesThe name JEGGS is an abbreviation that combines the first initial of each of my family member's names: Jeff, Emily, Grant, Grace, and Susan. I chose to name my phage JEGGS to demonstrate my appreciation for my family, who have been incredibly supportive of all of my scientific endeavors.
