Discovery Notes | The soil was collected on August 20, 2018. The soil was from an area of undergrowth where there was ragweed, sunflowers, bushes, and grasses. The air temperature was 91 degrees Fahrenheit. The soil was dark and slightly moist without being wet. |
Naming Notes | I named the phage Jackdaw after a ship in the video game Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and the bird for which that ship is named. The video game is one of my favorites, and the bird itself is very intelligent and inquisitive. |
