Discovery Notes | The soil sample was from the soil surround the roots of a tree near my school's dorm. The weather was mainly cloudy skies all day besides slight rain pour mid-day. The temperature was around 75 degrees Fahrenheit for most of the day with relatively average humidity (~60%). |
Naming Notes | It's an interesting name that I read about in a Bible story. I'm debating if I like it so I'm testing out how I feel about it through naming my phage Jahaziel. |

Lysogeny Notes | A lysate of high titer was unable to be achieved even though multiple rounds of flooding with webbed plates and liquid infection were followed through. The creation of webbed plates indicate that multiple rounds of infection were able to have taken place, but it did not help in increasing the titer a significant amount. Liquid infection also contributed to making the phage go through more rounds of lysing of host bacteria to multiply; however, like the webbed plates, this did not help achieve a high titer all too much. This in all concludes that lysogeny was able to take place, but was not able to reach a lysate of high titer. |
Annotating Institution | Unknown or unassigned |
Annotation Status | Not sequenced |
Plaque Notes | The size of my plaques are relatively consistent. They seem to be average in comparison to the sizes of other plaques in my lab. There wasn't anything too distinct in morphology such as defined borders or cloudiness. The exact sizing or morphology shape is unable to be determined because an EM grid was unable to be retrieved. |
