Discovery NotesCollected soil from (33.177997°N, -96.921439°W) in south eastern Denton, Little Elm, Texas, at 8:02 pm. The temperature was 42 degrees F in the evening, and the humidity was at 51%. The location was on the upper left corner of my backyard underneath an Urbanite Ash tree. I dug 2 inch of soil 18 inches away from the tree trunk and shoveled it inside the Ziploc bag.
Naming NotesI used to be intrigued by Davy Jones Locker as a kid, and somewhere around that time I enjoyed being called Jankins as well, and in my head the two would correlate. I'd play pretend with that name and playfully threaten my friends and neighbors with sending them down Davy Jones Locker (My favorite character was the Flying Dutchman form SpongeBob, and he'd say that line a lot). So I named my phage after my childhood 'persona', and as a tribute to that time in my life.
