Discovery Notes | Sample was taken from a damp patch of soil in my backyard. The soil was excavated from about 5 inches below the surface. Phage was isolated from sample via direct isolation. |
Naming Notes | Phage is named after my dog - GiGi because she dug a hole in the ground in our backyard - where I found the phage! I call her little gigi which is why the name is little gigi. |
