Discovery NotesOn September 16th, 2025, at 4:00 PM, a community soil collection was conducted at Kilborn Gardens (Elmvale–Eastway–Riverview–Riverview Park West, Ottawa, ON). The sampling site was a garden bed located near corn plants, adjacent to the uOttawa Peter Morand area. The ambient temperature outside was 25 °C, and the weather was slightly humid and fairly sunny.
Naming NotesMartlet is named after Marty the Martlet at McGill. My sister is pursuing a Master's degree at McGill and her path deeply inspires me. Notably, Martlet reminds me of my sister both in appearance and in spirit.
