Discovery NotesOn September 16th, 2025 at 4:00 PM, a community soil collection was performed at Kilborn Gardens in the Elmvale–Eastway–Riverview–Riverview Park West area of Ottawa, ON. The sample was taken from a garden bed located near corn plants. At the time of collection, the ambient temperature was 25 °C, with slightly humid and fairly sunny weather conditions.
Naming NotesMcGill’s Marty the Martlet symbolizes strength and perseverance, much like my sister Emily’s work toward her graduate degree there. I named this phage in her honor.
