Discovery NotesThe sample was collected from soil containing freshly laid grass. It was cold and snowing when the sample was collected on January 18th, 2022. The soil was soft and some grass roots were contained in our sample.
Naming NotesThe name for this phage stems from two hungry college students who are also lacking in creativity. Through brainstorm the best that could be settled on was something regarding what we had eaten that day, and thus we have named the phage Matzoball.
