Discovery NotesMy soil sample was collected on Fannin St, Denton TX right next to University of North Texas. It was collect the 13th of September in 2017 at 8:23am. The temperature that day was 55 degrees Fahrenheit but sunny. The soil when collected was very dry and sandy.
Naming NotesThe reason I chose the name MelMan was to represent each of my family members. Each letter is the first initial of my mother's, father's, sister's, and two bother's name. MelMan represents Melissa, Elijah, Liliana, Manny, And Nelson. I capitalized the two M's just because thats the only repeated letters. It also emphasized the man of the family "and Nelson" which is my father. My family means so much to me I wanted to name my phage after them.
