Discovery NotesThe soil sample that the phage was isolated from was collected at 9:30 AM. The soil was very dark- almost black. The soil was moist, and there was rich vegetative growth in the bed from where the sample was collected,
Naming NotesI named my phage Franklen (with an e because Franklin was already taken) after my favorite scientist, the chemist and x-ray crystallographer, Rosalind Franklin.

Plaque NotesMy plaques are medium in size, most often being about 1 cm in diameter. My plaque shapes are very imperfect circles. Some have more smooth edges than others, while some have very "bumpy" edges. My plaques all have rings; there are always the very clear, large, center part of the plaque, and then there are the translucent rings that surrounded the clearer centers.
