Discovery Notes | The isolated phage was discovered near a water main. A sample of soil was taken from a section of soil that had recently been disturbed in order to repair/maintain said water main. This made for easy extraction of the soil sample. The sample was collected in the early morning at 19.444C and photos and GPS coordinates of the location were recorded. |
Naming Notes | My dog's name is Raven and he is named for my favorite sports team, the Baltimore Ravens. Both names (Raven/s) come from Edgar Allen Poe's famous poem, The Raven. In it, the Raven responds with one word phrases and near the end says "Nevermore". The word has a relationship to the poem and the author and thus a relationship to the football team and finally, through the team, a relationship to my dog. In addition, the area from where the sample was taken is an area where my dog has traversed many times. |

Plaque Notes | For most of the experimentation, the plaque morphology was smaller, circular plaques that had a slight opaque ring around the actual plaque. There were instances where the opaque ring was not found. There was also one instance where plaques on a single plate varied in size, but for majority of the results, the plaques were the same size. |
