Discovery NotesCollected from a grassy area from a smaller campus quad (by Waston Hall). Soil was undisturbed and collected around 2 inches deep. It was 5.5 degrees(celsius) when the sample was collected, roughly 2 yards from the side walk. Collected on 1/24/23
Naming NotesOur phage was consistently on the larger side, so we felt that "Pancakey" was a fun and endearing way to acknowledge its size

Plaque NotesOur phage presented in two different sizes. We chose to proceed with the larger spot (about 2mm) after three rounds of serial dilutions as it was more isolated. Changed from lytic to lysogenic. Three rounds of serial dilutions were performed to ensure a purified sample. Final dilution was made to our phage DNA solution for a satisfactory restriction digestion preparation.
