Discovery NotesCollected from soil on 09/02/2025 07:32, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. I found it next to a vegetable garden which was slightly moist from watering, at a depth of 7.62 cm. At the time of collection, it was 17°C and cloudy with a little sun.
Naming NotesWhen I was thinking of what to name my phage, I was also thinking of my grandpa (on my mom’s side). His last name is Perone (pronounced: Per-On). It’s also my mom’s maiden name and she’s an amazing, inspiring person. I also thought that a bacteria plate with phage plaques can sort of look like a slice of pepperoni. So, this was my way of choosing a kind of silly, yet meaningful, name. Pronounced: pep-per-On.
