Discovery Notes | This phage was collected from a patch of grass, somewhat down in a dead patch that was no larger than 3in^3. The spot barely allowed us to fit a spoon down to grab some of the soil as well as some of the grass roots. We collected roughly 15mL of hard soil and roots. |
Naming Notes | Looking at the names of existing phages, the idea of replacing an 'F' with a 'Ph' was not only fun, but it makes the phage easy to recognize. |
