Discovery Notes | The appearance of my soil was very dark and wet. It also came from a flower pot with the extra nutrients added to the potting mix. Moss and algae were growing on the top, but my soil came from about 3 inches down. I confirmed through many experiments that RanserRd was a bacteriophage of Gordonia terrae, and I also confirmed through lysogen testing that RanserRd is also a bacteriophage of Gordonia lacunea. |
Naming Notes | The name for this phage came from the street that I live on. Since I got the soil from a flower pot at my house, I thought it would be fun to name the phage after the street it was from. |
