From enriched soil sample?Yes
Isolation Temperature30°C
GPS Coordinates36.98728 N, 86.45204 W Map
Discovery NotesSoil conditions - Very dry and easily broken apart, precipitation was at 0%, collected the sample on the surface of the soil, Doesn’t seem disturbed, there was wildlife such as bunnies roaming nearby during data collection
Temperature - 90°F or 32.2°C
Location - near the kissing bridge at WKU in Bowling Green KY close to a tree growing on the rocks, near the plants with large and long leaves. Soil had no grass on top but did have grass around. There was barely anything covering the soil where it was collected from. Collected on the very surface of the soil
Naming NotesThis name came from my dad who inspired me to go into the biology field.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesUsing the turbid plaques formed a potential lysogen was plated along with the phage. Once incubated the phage did not create any plaques indicating that there is a lysogen present, and the lysogen has an immunity to bacteriophage Shinichiro.
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesThe plaque is turbid has a diameter of around 0.35cm, and has no bullseye but a very slight halo can be observed throughout the plaques formed by the phage. Due to the turbid morphology observed this phage lives in a temperate lifestyle.
