| Discovery Notes | Phage Studio was discovered from a soil sample collected on September 19th from a garden bed in the Rockland community garden. The sample site was located at 45.5415523, -75.2944494 with an ambient temperature of approximately 15 °C at the time of collection. Nanopore sequencing of the Studio genome produced 18 contigs, with the longest contig measuring 8,657 bp. BLASTn analysis of this contig revealed high-confidence matches (E-value = 0) to two Cluster FR Arthrobacter phages, AnnabelLee and Neuvillette, with over 80% coverage. The alignment to Neuvillette showed 92% identity across 5,700 bp with 0% gaps, while the alignment to AnnabelLee produced 91% identity across 5,700 bp, also with 0% gaps. These strong matches indicate that Studio shares close genomic similarity with both AnnabelLee and Neuvillette, supporting its placement within Cluster FR and suggesting a related genome structure. |
| Naming Notes | The name studio comes from my background as a competitive dancer and now a dance teacher. Dance is my passion and growing up I was always at the dance studio, thus why I chose that name. |

| Plaque Notes | The isolated bacteriophage Studio produced small, clear plaques on Arthrobacter globiformis, a morphology that is generally suggestive of a lytic infection cycle. However, Studio did not show consistent plaque formation throughout the purification process, with plaque appearance varying noticeably across different host batches. |
