| Discovery Notes | Phage was isolated at Gonzaga University on 8/30/17 from soil sample around campus. The phage was found to be compatible with the bacterium Microbacterium foliorum and was isolated and run under PCR for identification. |
| Naming Notes | Name of the phage came from Star Trek. Both my partner and I are Star Trek nerds, so we ended up naming it after a line by Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise D. Since the enterprise serial number NCC-1701 is protected under copyright, we weren't able to use that name and therefore had to choose something else, which we chose to be Jean-Lucs favorite drink, Earl Grey Tea served hot. |
