Discovery NotesThe soil was darker in color and slightly damp, as it had rained the night before. We extracted our sample from under and acorn tree on August 27th, 2024.
Naming NotesOur lab section discussed naming our phages based off of Disney characters, so my partner and I came up with a mixed name from Timon and Pumba in the Lion King.

Plaque NotesPlaques are uniformly distributed across the petri dish, presenting as small round clearings. The plaques are densely packed and well-defined, indicating successful lysis of host cells. However as we were analyzing our spot-titer, we found no plaques. From then, all of our petri dishes (including our full plate titers, another spot titer attempt, and the spot titers that contain different bacterial hosts and different temperatures) had no plaques. We also did not receive a TEM image because there was no detectable phage in our sample. Throughout the rest of our experimentations, we found no evidence of phage.
