Discovery NotesFound in a water sample taken from a drain pipe which lets out onto Stevens Run on the Gettysburg College campus. The sample was taken from running water on a warm, sunny day and enriched with Mycobacterium smegmatis before plating.
Naming NotesNamed after the stream from which the water sample was taken. Although the official name of the stream is "Stevens Run," members of the Gettysburg College community often refer to it as "the Tiber."
