Discovery Notes | Sample was isolated from a puddle in the middle courtyard outside of the Lewis dormitory at Tufts University. The soil was dark brown, damp, and had a coarse texture. It was collected about 5 cm below the surface. There were visible rocks, sticks, and roots with no signs of bugs or other organisms. |
Naming Notes | The name "Udon" was selected because it is the favorite style of noodle of both founders. |
