Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered by Gauri Bhatia, Alisha Mullick, and Ashka Shah. The soil sample was found near a city house, in a mulch bed outside of the house. There was pavement near the bed. The soil had large clumps, some containing roots, and coarse particles of soil. It was also grainy and dry. It was hot and dry during the time of soil collection (around high 80s).
Naming NotesThis name came from the initials of our three first names. A for Ashka, G for Gauri, and A for Alisha. The gals was added as we all identify as gals.
