Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered near a corner of a building on campus, in a dry area, not very "mulchy", where the soil was very coarse and rough. The soil was hard to get through and there was also very little to no foot traffic in the vicinity.
Naming NotesThis name was inspired by LeBron James. His legacy will live on through our phage. "AkronHammer" consumes bacteria the same way LeBron has dominated the NBA for over 22 years. Our phage truly embodies LeBron's spirit, will, and determination.
