Discovery NotesThe soil sample was obtained from a flower garden in front of Sutherland Hall. The GPS coordinates are 40.4457715 (N); h0 degrees 26' 44.777" latitude and -79.9622908 (W); 79 degrees 57' 44.246" longitude. Location observations and conditions: 87 degress and sunny and in close proximinty to flowers. The soil collected was about a quarter of an inch under the surface and it was in close proximinty to street cars and pedestrians. The flower garden was in close proximinty to the dining hall so food and drinks may have been dropped on this soil sample. Physical characteristics of the soil sample: dark brown, soft, medium sized clumps with some mulch, minimal debris, slightly damp but not wet, and cooler than room temperature. The soil sample was transported directly to lab after it was collected so it was outside for approximately 2 minutes.
