Discovery NotesPhage was obtained from a soil sample taken from a cultivated flower patch. Flower patch present in front of a large apartment building with high foot traffic and generally low plant diversity.
Naming NotesThe isolated phage was named "Pheat" for a few different reasons, however, primarily because it was quite a big feat to amplify and purify this phage, with persistent contamination impacting the length of this project (and some of my sanity). Notably, I was also eating a beet (homonym) at the time of naming!
