Discovery NotesBigelow was isolated from a soil sample taken outside of William Pitt Union in the University of Pittsburgh on January 16, 2017. The weather was 40 degrees Fahrenheit and windy. But the soil was dark, clumpy, and moist. The first sign of the presence of Bigelow appeared after performing a direct isolation.
