Discovery NotesThe soil was found on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University. It was near a parking lot and a football field. The soil was sampled from a flower bed.
Naming NotesThis phage is named after my favorite baseball team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team is nicknamed 'bucs' or 'buccos' which is derived from buccaneer, a synonym for pirate.
