Discovery Notes | This phage was found a backyard in soil beneath dead leaves and a fallen branch. Nearby, there was a rotting wood structure and an old overturned canoe. The soil was slightly moist, collected at 85 degrees fahrenheit and 60% humidity. There was 0" precipitation in the last 24 hours and the soil was at 50 feet elevation. |
Naming Notes | This phage was named Cousteau after the explorer Jacques Cousteau. I thought this would be an apt name as I felt a little like an explorer foraging for soil samples and searching for phage. |
