Isolation Host | Gordonia terrae 3612 |
Found By | Melania Linderman |
Year Found | 2016 |
Location Found | Oakland, PA USA |
Finding Institution | University of Pittsburgh |
Program | Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science |
From enriched soil sample? | Yes |
Isolation Temperature | Not entered |
GPS Coordinates | 40.4459 N, 79.9629 W Map |
Discovery Notes | The soil from which this sample, and consequently the phage, was found happened to be very water saturated and muddy. The temperature was below freezing with snow falling and present on the ground. |
Naming Notes | My phage is unique in that it requires phage buffer without glycerol to survive. I wanted my name to reflect that uniqueness so I named it crown because of its ability to separate itself from other phages. |
Sequencing Information | |
Sequencing Complete? | No |
Genome length (bp) | Unknown |
Character of genome ends | Unknown |
Fasta file available? | No |

Plaque Notes | The original plaques where very large; however, after a saving the plaque technique was performed upon the single plaque that survived the phage buffer with glycerol, the plaques are very small - pinprick like. |
