Discovery NotesThis phage was discovered in the soil of a garden pot that had a plant growing out of it. It was partially in the shade but received a decent amount of sunlight. The soil looked to be slightly moist. The garden pot was in a small garden that birds and stray cats are known to frequent so it is unknown albeit possible for there to be animal contact to the soil. The phage was thought to infect A. globiformis but it was discovered that the bacteria that the class had been using all along was actually a contaminant that had been isolated from the very first streak plate of the HHMI stock supply provided.

FOR GEL OF ENZYME DIGESTS: (left to right) ladder, uncut, NspI, SacI, BamHI,ClaI

NspI is the only one that cut the DNA
Naming NotesThe Spanish word for Crow since crow was already taken. I am absolutely fascinated by corvid studies and how intelligent these birds are. They can easily be trained to accomplish goals or understand human machines/patterns and I feel like that's part of what we do with phage.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Lysogeny NotesBased on plaques appears to be in lytic phase
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesThe plaques are small (about the size of a pinprick) and appear clear, however given time to incubate they expand to be about the size of a #2 pencil's eraser. The larger plaques do appear to have a bit of a halo around the edges instead of being crisply clear.
