Discovery NotesThis phage was found in a very grassy area, parallel to the path between Sylvan Residential and Orchard Hill on the Umass Amherst campus. The area was very moist, and the soil was dug out from under the grass.
Naming NotesThis is the name of a group member’s family member. The name Daelen also means to be creatively gifted/special, and our plaque is quite unique looking, so we think it fits well.
