Discovery NotesI found this Phage during a mad dash to find soil samples because I forgot to collect them for the upcoming lab. During my rush I found myself at a large tree and decided to try and collect a sample from dark matter (presumably dirt) trapped in a crevice in the tree.
Naming NotesI originally had named this Phage Ernie along with Bert, who were two phages that came back positive from my samples. Named after the duo from sesame street based on the color of the bacteria they infected, Gordonia being orange and Foliorum being yellow. I decided to focus on isolating Ernie for this project, but after finding Ernie already taken I settled on using my last name. Daffner.
