Discovery Notes | This phage was found in soil that was underneath a rotting egg with bacteria growing all over the inside. The egg itself was found within an unkempt garden box in my local community garden. The soil was slightly moist near many weeds and decomposing leaves. 84°F |
Naming Notes | The name of this phage was based off of the soil sample this phage came from: Eggman, who is the main villain from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. This name felt right since the sample came from an egg. This character also goes by the name Dr. Robotnik in America after the game was localized in the U.S. from Japan. |
