| Naming Notes | Hunter Roadman saw in a dream that our second purification of our isolate would come back with no phage the night prior to seeing the result. When our group returned to the lab to check, it originally appeared to have no phage, but upon further investigation and help from our instructor we found extremely hazy and large plaques. As they were exceedingly hard to see, we believe that they were "eaten by the dream", thus giving the name DreamEater. |

| Lysogeny Notes | Initial plaques produced were remarkably turbid, with a distinctive morphology at 48 hours incubation at 30°C. Interestingly, when plates were incubated at 30°C for 120 hours plaques exhibited a marked decrease in turbidity, suggesting a longer period between initial infection and eventual lysis of the host bacteria within the bacterial lawn; due to these findings we infer that Dreameater functions as a lysogenic bacteriophage. |
