Discovery Notes | Our soil was collected from the forest surrounding the Washington University Tyson Research Center on 8/29/15. The collection site was on southward-facing hill, far from any roads or other human structures. The soil was collected at a depth of 4cm after the leaf litter which rested on top of it was cleared away. The weather at time of collection (1:30PM) was partly cloudy. |
Naming Notes | From Greek Mythology: a dryad is a nymph of the forest. |
