Discovery Notes | My phage was found in a soil sample that was collected next to my mother's garden in our back yard. It was dug from about an inch under the grass, the dirt was not particularly moist, but not dry like sand either. |
Naming Notes | I have always loved the "Wicked" musical, and Elphaba has always been my favorite character, as she is incredibly misunderstood. I feel like viruses are seen as this negative thing, even though they are actually pretty magical. I wanted to make sure my phage was named after something magical and misunderstood. |

Plaque Notes | After the serial dilutions, plaques were relatively large and clear. The plate was abundant with plaques even getting to the 5th and 6th dilutions. After getting my webbed plate and collecting the lysate, plaques are much more abundant and much much smaller. Still clear and circular. |
