The soil sample was collected on August 26th, 2024 from a small city park in Southern Oakland. The soil was from under brush and detritus underneath some pine trees. It was deep brown in colour but silty and dry, yet easy to filter.
Naming NotesPlate was nicknamed affectionately after the airy dessert, sponge cake.
