Discovery Notes | 1/22/17 @ 10:20pm - The soil was retrieved from upper campus of the University of Pittsburgh on the right side of the parking garage near the Cost Center. It was 54o F and it had rained earlier in the day so the soil was moist. There was a layer of dead grass removed from the ground and the soil was loosened with a plastic knife and retrieved by hand with the bag turned inside out as a glove to avoid any contamination. |
Naming Notes | The phage was named based on an old nickname I had. |

Lysogeny Notes | Phage Fundamental22 is a lytic phage as it produced clear plaques and at high concentrations was able to very efficiently clear much of the bacterial lawn in which it was grown. |
Annotating Institution | Unknown or unassigned |
Annotation Status | Not sequenced |
Plaque Notes | The plaques are very small and clear. The plaques in any images that seem larger than others are most likely groupings of the smaller plaques because a clonal population was isolated. |
